Mr. Mark A Giolli seems to be urging us to accept the Warren Commission report as truth using the strength of blind faith. Might we remind him that the "solutions or alternatives" that he wishes to see are legion in their offering but fully unsubstantiated and incomplete not as the result of an absense of time and honest effort to achieve that resolution but as the result of an inability to overcome the government stonewalling that is pervasive. Where should we start when it comes to obvious areas of honest skepticism: a pristine bullet, ignored first hand eyewitness testimony, altered x-rays, fully substantiated inter-agency associations with many of the principals...............contradiction after contradiction............yes truth is what can be proven, but believable proof is not evidence that is forced to document a pre-concieved outcome ....Mr. Giolli please keep your skepticism intact but please join the cadre of truth seekers who only ask for an honest, unobstructed opportunity to look at evidence of fact untainted.

* * *

I would first like to commend you on this wonderful publication. As a history lover, with an extreme passion for the sixties, I find your on-line publication one I will frequent often, as I have bookmarked it on my computer. It is very well done, and sheds light on many issues that deal with the assassination of President Kennedy, other than just trying to figure out "who done it."

While browsing through a few of your latest issues, I came across a letter written by Mr. Mark A. Giolli. In his letter, Mark ruthlessly attacked "Conspiracy Theorists," and defended the Warren Commission Report as though God wrote it. He went on to disrespect the work of people who have spent the past thirty years researching the assassination, tirelessly pursuing a truth in all the lies.

The fact remains, while there are some "theorists" out there that "pick and choose what [they] want to believe as fact of fiction- in the case of the Kennedy Assassination," as he so well put it, that even the United States Government thinks otherwise. In an investigation spanning from 1976-1979, the United States Government found a conspiracy "probable" in the assassination of President Kennedy. Now Mark, you regard yourself as "quite knowledgeable" on the subject of the assassination of President Kennedy, so I would assume that you have stumbled upon this report written by the House Select Committee on Assassinations sometime in your countless hours of masterful research. Of course, you probably discounted it as another group trying to sell a book, written by investigators doing a "disservice in the investigation of the Presidents murder." The only disservice's I see being done, are those of the Warren Commission, and people such as Mark, who are to closed minded and afraid to face the facts as they happened that fateful day in Dallas.

Until people like Mark A. Giolli stop trying to push a report onto the public that even some of the members of the Warren Commission admitted to not fully believing, the truth will never be known. The people of America, as well as the rest of the world, must take a stand and demand the truth, or the government will continue to make us accept the lies that they have been forcing upon us since 1963.

I would like to thank all the editors and writers, of magazines such as this one, for their continued search for the truth that we know is there, buried somewhere beneath all the deceitful lies we have been force fed since that tragic day in Dallas. Keep up the good work, I look forward to future issues.

Respectfully-
Erik R. Quam

Harold Weisberg

Harold Weisberg went into the hospital at John Hopkins University for surgery to fabricate a shunt to support renal dialysis. I would like to ask that you publish in FAIR PLAY's Jan-Feb issue a request to your readers to express their [thoughts on] how Harold affected historical research, efforts of members of the JFK and MLK assassination research community, [by publishing] the following message:

Harold Weisberg has affected historical research efforts of hundreds or maybe even thousands of people in the research efforts throughout the years. He has done this giving researchers access to his FOIA requested records and by the insights derived from reading nearly a million pages of official documents and assassination-related books. While some people have felt the sting of his criticism, others have been inspired by his dedication to the cause: full government disclosure and exposition of the facts surrounding JFK's and MLK's assassinations. Harold is now 85+ years old and may not be around for many more years. Now is the time to express a kind word for all his work whether you are a full-time researcher or just a casual reader of Harold's published works (a small fraction of what he has written). Please send all communications (a paragraph to a double-spaced single page maximum) to ogilvie@srv.net. The letters will be compiled, edited and possibly published. If not published, printed or E-mailed to all who request a copy of the compendium. If Harold survives his latest surgery, he will be presented with a copy upon its completion on his birthday in April 1999. Please have your submissions in no later than 1 March 1999.

Mr. Ogilvie later sent the following email:

Harold's is no longer selling/publishing his books ... The reamiander of his stock is being sold by Hood College, Rosemont Avenue, Frederck, MD. Harold has gone in for surgery and has a shunt put in his arm to aid renal dialysis treatments ... He hopes to resume writing (not impossible) in the near future. He now has about twenty unpublished manuscripts which I am curently re-typing for him. Harold has a few surprises in his manuscripts. The manuscripts will be available at some indeterminate time in the future.

Renewed Interest

Dear fair play
For over thirty years I have studied, thought about, and spent lots of money because of my interest in the jfk assassination. For too many years I heard and read the same things over and over again. If something new came out it was so outlandish as to be laughable or worse deplorable. I began to tire of it all and believed after all that time that I knew only three absolute facts. first, jfk was killed, second our government hid many facts from us (thank Weisberg for this info ) and finally if you stand under the oak tree in front of the school book depository, birds will shit on your head guaranteed. But lately I have begun to notice a new breed of researchers emerge, they have documents in hand, they study every scrap of paper that comes their way, they live at the national archives and request documents. They hold a degree in specific field. They never speak of the presidents limo driver shooting the president they may not solve the mystery but they are compiling much info. They have renewed my interest in the case I don't know whether to cry or thank them.

Buy My Book

I am English writer who has researched this case since I was 15 (some 25 years). I have published a novel which is a serious attempt to look at all the theories I had read about.

The novel is published by Citron Press and is available thru Amazon.com at the JFK Assassination Bookstore.

I would like to bring this to your attention. The book has been favourably reviewed by Walt Brown who I met at the conference in Liverpool. It got a good mention in this October's DPQ.

If you would like more details, I would be happy to oblige.

Yours sincerely
Allen Peppitt

Buy Me Spell Check

I am utterly amassed that you folks havent figured who was behind the killing of JFK and why. Surely, after all of these years you would have walked out of the forest to check out the trees. Of course, I am beginning to think that the in-dept reseachers have actually figured it out, but alas, they have little courge.

Follow the motive and not the bullshit

Thank you.
