It has been said that the American people are the only jury that Lee Harvey Oswald will ever have. It is our responsibility, then, to examine with utmost care and objectivity the evidence for and against him, and to reach an independent verdict.
Fair Play Issue #24, Sept.-Oct., 1998
In This Fair Play...
- The Assassination Records Review Board goes out of existence during the run of this Fair Play. Indeed their Final Report was delivered to Congress and President Clinton in late September. With that in mind, we present the following ARRB items:
- ARRB Staff Report is a document sent out by the Review Board, accompanying the autopsy records released on July 31.
- The July 8, 1998 ARRB Open Meeting is a transcript prepared by Joseph Backes.
- The July 21, 1998 ARRB Open Meeting is also a transcript prepared by Joseph Backes.
- Jeremy Gunn at Stanford is a transcript of the ARRB Executive Director's speech at Stanford University, prior to his resignation in July. The transcript was prepared by Joseph Backes.
- Harrison Livingstone Interview The author of four books on the JFK assassination, including the soon-to-be-republished High Treason, spoke with Fair Play about the newly released autopsy records. During the interview Mr. Livingstone refers to a Washington Post article, which we make available here.
- Dial P for Perjury Richard Bartholomew presents strong evidence that Dr. Vincent P. Guinn perjured himself before the HSCA. Dr. Guinn tested bullet fragments for the Committee; the fragments are about to be retested by the FBI.
- John Ray: Show Me the Money! The brother of alleged King assassin James Earl Ray says he can solve the case --- and that James was involved, after all. But he'll only talk for a price.
- A. Nathan Darby Affidavit The sworn affidavit of the fingerprint expert who identified an alleged participant in the JFK assassination.
- The Pigs Grunt Some stuff the mass media has had on the JFK case recently. Editorial by John Kelin.
- Oswald and McWatters aims to demonstrate that Lee Oswald was never on Cecil McWatters' bus, and is also a counter-argument to aspects of John Armstrong's work. Article by Joseph Backes.
- Putting Myself in Ed Hoffman's Shoes Ian Griggs describes an experience that forced him to consider Ed Hoffman's ordeal in an entirely different light.
- 12 Steps for a Lone Nutter Some tongue-in-cheek suggestions for supporters of the Official Story. This article is by Bill Cleere.
- LancerLINE is a new electronic news service created by JFK Lancer Productions.
- Miscellanea, Errata, Et Cetera is a collection of stuff that didn't quite fit anywhere else.
- Updates From time to time, there is information we'd like to add, post-deadline, to Fair Play. We invite all readers to check back now and then to take a look at each of our two "Updates" files. ARRB Updates consists of press releases from the Records Review Board. Updates has various items that develop post-deadline; this file may well be empty.
- Who's Who and What's What What organizations are actively working toward resolving the JFK case? Where can you locate that hard-to-find assassination title? Fair Play presents a catalogue of the sources and resources we're aware of.
- JFK Bibliography A Fair Play listing of books relating to the Kennedy assassination.
- The ARRB On Tape Audio recordings of the Review Board meetings are now available at reduced prices. Here's info on how to get stuff.
