June COPA Regional Meeting
The Coalition on Political Assassinations will hold a Regional Meeting from
June 5-7 to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Robert F. Kennedy
assassination. The meeting will take place at the Continental Plaza Hotel at
LAX (Los Angeles airport). Speakers panels will are set for the evenings of
Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6 from 7-11 pm at the Continental Plaza.
Meetings of COPA's Working Panels are set from 9 am to 4 pm on both Saturday
and Sunday at the same location. A press conference will be held on Friday,
June 5 at 1:00, location to be announced. Meetings are open to the public.
SPEAKERS: Confirmed speakers for the evening sessions include Philip
Melanson, PhD, (author of Shadow Play on RFK), William Turner (author of
Assassination of RFK), Scott Enyart (eyewitness), Ralph Schoenman
(researcher and author on RFK and JFK). Others to be announced.
REGISTRATION: Full conference registration is $50, which includes membership
in COPA for 1998. Speaker panel events are $15 per night, and Working Panel
meetings $10 each day. Registration can be paid in advance to COPA at the
address below, or at the events.
RESERVATIONS: Hotel reservations at the Continental can be made by calling
1-800- LAX-HOTEL. Special discount rates for COPA participants are $68
single/double per night or $78 single/double for "deluxe" rooms, at the
quieter end of the hotel. Be sure to mention COPA when you call to reserve.
Check-in at 3:00pm, checkout at noon. Concierge will handle baggage after
checkout.
TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING: A free shuttle service between airport and hotel
can be arranged in the baggage claim area using the courtesy phone board.
Rental cars can be arranged at LAX or the Continental Plaza. Parking is
available to local and out-of-town participants for $4/day.
DIRECTIONS: Continental Plaza is at 9750 Airport Blvd. near LAX airport.
Traveling north or south on 405 Freeway, exit and go east on Century Blvd to
Airport Blvd, then right on Airport to corner of 98th Street. From 105
Frreway follow Sepulveda Blvd. east through Tunnel and turn right on 98th

Sirhan Press Conference
PRESS RELEASE
Press Conference held on Kennedy Anniversary

Los Angeles--JFK Lancer has just be notified that there will be a press
conference held by Larry Teeter, Sirhan's attorney, Lynn Magnus, RFK
research expert, and Adel Sirhan, the brother of Sirhan, on Friday, June
5th, at 10:30 am at the Sirhan family home.
Evidence being sent to the California State Supreme Court requesting anew
hearing will be presented.
Also, Adel Sirhan will speak on evidence which he feels was left out of a
recent book on the Sirhan trial.
Magnus will address her petition to the Academy of Forensic Science
requesting the viewing of ballistic evidence in this case.
Robert Kennedy was shot on June 5, 1968 in Los Angeles, California and
Sirhan was arrested at the scene and found guilty of the murder.
Investigations have revealed that the Senator was shot at close range and
not from the Sirhan postition.

The Robert Oswald Show
Robert Oswald, brother of accused Presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald and a believer in his guilt, is expected to appear on NBC-TV's Dateline program this June.
According to researcher Gary Mack, archivist of the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, "The show includes Robert's home movie of Thanksgiving activities at his house one year to the day before the assassination. Lee and Marina,
Robert and John Pic were there and appear in the movie. It is the only
home movie Robert has of his brother. The 8mm color film was transferred
to video tape here in Dallas and should look much clearer than the version
seen in the 1993 PBS/Frontline special Who Was Lee Harvey Oswald?"
The Dateline story, Mack continues, "was inspired by Michael Leahy's excellent three-part article 'Oswald: A Brother's Burden,' which ran a few months ago in the Arkansas Democrat-Journal."
Mack concludes, "I briefed Dateline on some of the issues researchers care about, but did not participate in the interview and have not seen the segment."
The Oswald segment was originally set to air in May, but was rescheduled was to accomodate the NBA playoffs, which are carried by NBC and can lead to programming conflicts.
