Fair Play: Reader Feedback

Fair Play welcomes correspondence of all types. Want to share a theory? Address the research community? Write to Fair Play!

Feel free to complain about or compliment the stuff you read in this magazine. Likewise, feel free to submit material for publication. Send us stuff with this E-Z form. If your browser doesn't support forms, write to:

We recommend sending a query before sending any articles.

Note: Several of the letters we received were rather long; in one instance there was also a response from an author. We have opted to place those letters in separate files. See comments on Bill MacDowall's article Bang! Bang! You're Dead and Ron Hepler's The Wounding of Governor John Connally by clicking on the links supplied.

Secret FBI Files

The Secret FBI Files Web Site is Now Open.

http://www.crunch.com/01secret/01secret.html

which lists thousands of Politically Significant FBI Files, including records unreleased to ARRB.

Could you please mention this to people you know?

Sprague/Blakey Item

Thanks for another outstanding article.

Richard E. Sprague mentions the suppression of the Fenton report.

Even though this was a high-priority item on the research communities list, the ARRB did NOT pry it loose. Even if it still exists, I wonder in what form?

Regarding the "Rambler" series of articles. I always seem to fall behind my reading schedule in the summer months. I'm just now finishing up reading it. My opinion: GREAT. I contacted the author trying to get the CD mentioned.

We wondered why we didn't get more feedback on the "Rambler" articles than we did. Martin Shackelford emailed this comment: "Long-time researchers, or even some on the case for just a few years, may already have obtained Richard's piece from Lancer, or picked it up at a conference, as I did. That may be why the reaction was less than expected." Others, as indicated above, contacted the author directly.

Where's Groden's Tape?

Dear Fair Play;

Do [you] have any updates on the Groden Tape Assassination volume II? It seems the copyright infringement allegations should be winding [their] way through Court by now and if so, please let us know when we can buy the video tape. If there is any information on this around , please publish, or get Robert Groden to fill in this captive audience. The Rambler story is intriguing as always and thanks for that one.

American Tabloid

I enjoy checking in with Fair Play from time to time, having been a lifelong student of the Assasination. I'm interested in knowing if you have read "American Tabloid" by James Ellroy. Ellroy creates a fiction world that makes a perfectly plausible case for solving the JFK conspiracy.

I think an interview with Ellroy would be very entertaining and informative for your readers. Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Rob Maynard
