It has been said that the American people are the only jury that Lee Harvey Oswald will ever have. It is our responsibility, then, to examine with utmost care and objectivity the evidence for and against him, and to reach an independent verdict.
Fair Play Issue #17, July-August, 1997
In This Fair Play...
- Another Rambler Witness Kansas researcher Chris Courtwright has unearthed an FBI document that offers additional corroboration to compelling evidence of how Lee Oswald really left Dealey Plaza.
- Possible Discovery of an Automobile Used in the JFK Conspiracy is a book-length manuscript written by Texas researcher Richard Bartholomew. The author has provided a special Foreword for this publicaton. Due to its length, the main body of the work has been divided into four roughly equal sections, linked sequentially, but also accessible individually by clicking on 1, 2, 3, and 4. Additionally, we have two updates from Mr. Bartholomew, written at intervals of several years: a 1994 Update, and a 1996 Update. Note: A link to a diagram of an important element of this article will be found within Part 3.
- What's the Deal with 13-Inch Heads? is an article by Jack White, with a related item by Richard Bartholomew appended to it. At issue are some very curious measurements. This article first appeared in The Investigator.
- The COPA Conference The Coalition on Political Assassinations held its annual National Conference in June this year. We have several reports:
- The COPA Conference, by Fatback, summarizes events;
- Contra/Cocaine trafficking, also by Fatback, discusses John Newman's presentation;
- Another Georgetown Triumph! by Ed Sherry, is a somewhat gossipy summary of events;
- COPA Comments is the text of an informational email sent out by COPA shortly after its conference ended.
- The Lancer Conference JFK-Lancer, publishers of the quarterly journal Kennedy Assassination Chronicles, has a preliminary announcement on this year's November in Dallas conference.
- Extending the Review Board A Congressional subcommittee met in June to consider a resolution that would extend the life of the Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) beyond this October. Joseph Backes prepared this transcript.
- Someone Named Clay is an excerpt from the journal of Clay Shaw. This journal snippet was recently made available by the ARRB.
- Miscellanea, Errata, Et Cetera consists of stuff that didn't quite fit anywhere else.
- Updates From time to time, there is information we'd like to add, post-deadline, to Fair Play. We invite all readers to check back now and then to take a look at each of our two "Updates" files. ARRB Updates consists of press releases from the Records Review Board. Updates has various items that develop post-deadline; this file may well be empty.
