One thing I have always wondered about. With all the people there in Dealy Plaza that day, I find it incredible that we have so few pictures of the assassination scene. Wouldn't it be a bombshell if someone were to find in their late uncle's attic either still or 8mm movie films that show the second, third or fourth shooter?
I think it's within the realm of possiblity that someone alive today who was at Dealy Plaza has pictures but out of fear (and rightfully so) has decided to keep them a private secret.
Any thoughts on this --- or better yet any information?
Also, I keep hearing things about the "Kool-Aid sign". Can you shed some light on what that might be?
Thanks
Well, we don't know anything about a "Kool Aid sign." But it might interest you to know that someone has recently come forward, claiming to have previously unseen film shot in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963.
This person recently contacted the folks at JFK-Lancer. His claim was that his late uncle had shot some home movies near the TSBD on the day of the assassination. This person says his father and uncle both looked at the film, and were "visibly shaken" by what they saw. Both men died a year later, but before his death the uncle made his wife promise that she would "keep secret what was on the film." Apparently she did, but she is now apparently also dead, and the person contacting Lancer was wondering what should be done with the film.
The folks at Lancer posted this information to both alt.conspiracy.jfk, and to an assassination researchers' email group. Not surprisingly, the news has been greeted with great skepticism. Independent researcher Rick Nelson, an occasional contributor to Fair Play, tracked the person down and identified him as "a student in the Graduate School of Library and Information at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada."
Rick says he talked to this grad student on the phone, and the student insists he is not perpetrating a hoax. Rick says the student also said "he doesn't have the film and has in fact been speaking on behalf of the actual owner. He wouldn't tell me who that person is but I believe he lives in the United States, if he does in fact exist."
There followed some conversation about what is on the film (so far, it sounds inconclusive) and the suggestion that the film be copied and distributed to the ARRB and members of the research community, with the original safeguarded. (Obviously the film, if it exists, should also be authenticated.) Rick states that "it was my impression that he was sincere."
What happens next, if anything, remains to be seen. Natural skeptics that we are, we are not holding our breath. Please take note that this entire episode should not be confused with the Patsy Paschall film, which surfaced late last year and is indeed film taken in Dallas in 1963.
As a new internet user, I am very impressed with your efforts that allow persons like me to become more interested and begin an active role.
Though the dark days of Hoover, Cold War, Domino theory, Vietnam are over, the once elite bureaucrats in the CIA and FBI and NSA are still protected by the remaining but hardened crust and their interests. I classify Helms and now retired FBI and CIA people among them, along with the gutless wonders we call our representatives.
It is time we find a crusader among the newly elected to help. There is no reason that records be kept sealed. We need legislation that forces an open, honest, responsible and subservient government.
Please count me in.

Or, what Oswald allegedly did. That's what you meant, right?
Surely America you owe it to your President to find out every last bastard involved in the planning and assasination of your President, "not because it is easy, but because it is difficult". It is already a proven fact that it is impossible to have fired three or four shots with the gun allegedly used by Lee Harvey Oswald in 4.3 seconds, taking 2.3 seconds to simply eject the cartridge and load a single bullet not counting the time it takes to aim at a moving target. Giancana is your man, himself assasinated in 1978.
Sincerely,

So as to not overwhelm myself with work, I've been limiting my assassination research to what happened in dealey plaza on the 22nd. Lately, I've been looking at the Umbrella Man and the Dark-Complected Man. While everything the Umbrella Man does is certainly highly suspicious, numerous texts I've read have referred to the Dark-Complected Man as "pumping his fist" as the JFK limo pulls toward. Careful examination of the Zapruder film shows him to be waving with an open right hand, his arm fully extended. Are there any other films which show his actions?
Secondly, is there a source where the assassination films are available on laserdisc? Videotape is okay, but the resolution is dubious. As poor quality as the films are, we certainly don't need to lose even more resolution to videotape!
Kudos to your efforts. Your ezine is consistently the most thought-provoking one on the web.
Best of luck in the future,
Nick
Thank you for this note. You should know that the editor, who doubles as the janitor, recoils at the word "Sir" when used in reference to himself.
We responded to you privately about assassination films. Anyone who knows a good source, though, please let us know. Use the email form at the bottom of this page.
