After umpteen requests for an archive, and after repeatedly giving excuse after excuse, we are quite pleased to say that a Fair Play archive is now up and running. It lives on a distant server; there's a link to it on the top-level page of this issue.
High time, eh?
This one is a "JOB WELL DONE" I have only been on the "net" a few months BUT as a person who is and has been more than interested in the JFK assassination since it happened when I was 19, I can say with all honesty that I look forward to visiting FAIRPLAY.
Solid articles - no fluff that's what you have.
I too would like to see some back issues available and await the time you make them so.

We add this letter to the editor not to belabor a point, but to illustrate the increasing number of requests we've had about back issues.
Remember me, I'm the one who asked everyone to compliment Professor Scott on [his] Deep Politics book--and tried to find something to compliment Mailer for about his dismal Tale? Well, a funny thing happened a few months back: although only 46, I had a heart attack followed by spectacular late-night bypass surgery. Now that I'm back, Fair Play has helped me feel less out of touch with the JFK case. Unfortunately, I will be moving to another job and will not have Internet access for a few months. I sincerely hope you will be here when I get back.
By the way, speaking of Richard Nagell and his passing... I asked Dick Russell if it was at all possible that Alex Hidell was a real, physical person--namely, Richard Case Nagell. He has not responded yet. (When I mentioned this possiblility to Peter Dale Scott, he wasn't impressed. In fact, he was extremely suspicious of Nagell, period.) Does anyone else think there might be something to this?
Also, has anyone out there done any research into Albert Osborne, the guy Oswald sat next to on the bus to Mexico City. Dick Russell unearthed some very tempting leads...

Chuck, you wrote to us in early January. We hope that by the time Issue #9 goes out in early March, you're back online!
The wounds of President Kennedy and Governor Connally proved that the assassin was located behind and to the right of the victims. This was brought by results of the autopsy, which although poorly organized, indicated that all the bullets entering President Kennedy's body had trajectories that lined up with the sixth floor window of the Texas School Book Depository Building. Furthermore, Lee Harvey Oswald worked at the Texas School Book Depository Building, and was known to have been in this building on the morning of the assassination. In addition, the eloquent neutron activation studies of Dr. Vincent Guinn at the University of California, Irvine, revealed that the bullets and their fragments all fit in with the lone gunman theory. Moreover, ballistic evidence has established that the "magic bullet" matched the barrel of Oswald's rifle.
The photographic evidence never proved anything, as far as a conspiracy. The photograph by Mary Moorman, showing the Grassy Knoll at the moment immediately following the head shot, yielded nothing more than lights and shadows. The Orville Nix home movie film showed basically the same as the Mary Moorman photograph. Although conspiracy theorists point to these two films as supporting a multiple assassin involvement, many photographic experts remain unconvinced of any gunman on the Grassy Knoll (or behind the fence bordering the knoll ).
On the other hand, there appears to be little clear evidence for more than one gunman. True, there were witnesses who claimed to have seen assassin(s) on the Grassy Knoll, but many of these have since changed their minds, for one reason or another. Then, there is the case of Jean Hill and Beverly Oliver. Ms. Hill has changed her story in 1978, giving an elaborate version of seeing assassins behind the fence bordering the Grassy Knoll, even though it might be difficult to view assassins behind the 5-6 foot fence at a distance of about 200 feet. And Beverly Oliver said she was the "Babushka Lady"; however, one would almost have to be blind not to see in the Nix films that the woman was not Beverly Oliver. Also, the movie camera with which Beverly Oliver said she filmed the assassination was of a brand not yet manufactured in 1963. Would it not have been difficult to make a movie from her camera in 1963?
I think that the view taken should be one of looking at the witness testimony immediately following the assassination. If this was done, the consensus of opinion would be that three shots had been fired and that these came from the direction of the Texas School Book Depository.

I cannot for the life of me understand the suspension of logic exhibited by the "conspiracy" lobby. Is it just left wing angst that the beloved president was not martyred by a right wing cabal but was brutally gunned down by a pathetic little marxist? Sorry people but the sad truth is that one man alone is responsible for this heinous act. His name is Lee Oswald.
This loner, with his wife pregnant with another child, was assisted in finding employment with the Texas School Book Depository, by people who befriended his wife Marina in early October. When Oswald realized that the Presidential motorcade would be passing in front of his building, Oswald decided to make something out of his pathetic little life.
After the shooting, one Depository employee was missing, Mr. Oswald. He left work, went to his rented room and after grabbing a pistol and jacket planned to flee the area. Upon being stopped by Officer JT Tippet, Mr. Oswald pulled his gun and murdered the man. Over 10 eyewitnesses either picked Mr. Oswald as the shooter or saw him fleeing the scene.
Please, can"t you "buffs" stop suspending logic, making up facts not in evidence, and using accusation as fact? Sorry, it was the tormented and demented little man who changed the course of history. All the conspiracy theorists have accomplished is to blur and cloud the real facts with out- landish speculation based on unfounded rumor. Can someone give me an unrefuted fact as evidence of conspiracy after all these books and investigations and years? To the Mark Lanes and Jim Garrisons et al "have you no shame sirs at long last?"
I shouldn't dignify your ridiculous email with a response, but I'm going to. I'm also going to publish it in my online magazine, "Fair Play." I'm assuming for now that you got my email address from the Web.
In the first place, you don't have the courage to sign your name, so how can I take you seriously? You can't even stand up and be counted as a supporter of that ridiculous and thoroughly discredited Warren Report, which you profess to believe.
All your message has done is parrot the official line. You don't offer a shred of supporting evidence for the claims you make--- not even citing the Warren Report!
Furthermore, you make the assertion that so-called "buffs," which surely you know is a derogatory term, suspend logic and make up facts. This demonstrates to me your lack of familiarity with the official evidence, gathered and published by the Warren Commission, and the evidence that has surfaced in the more than three decades since the crime was committed.
Pointing out the fallacies of your apparent beliefs is, of course, a complete waste of time on my part, so I'm not going to give you any further attention.
