Excuses

Fair Play is edited and published by John Kelin; all credit or blame for its content must be laid at his doorstep. Contributors to this issue include Joseph Backes, Ian Griggs, Keith Preston, Joseph Riley, and Christopher Sharrett. Mr. Preston took the photographs of John Judge and Robert Groden; they were scanned by Mr. Riley, who also provided the Nagell scans. The scan of the Muchmore frame came from Robert Harris. Michael Swanson sent us the stuff about Lucien Sarti.

Special thanks to Lisa Pease of Probe for helping Fair Play get permission to run the letter of Richard Case Nagell, and for sending us an electronic copy.

Fair Play was flattered to have been rated among the top five percent of all sites on the Web. This rating comes from an outfit we'd never heard of before called Point Survey, who have this to say about themselves: "Point is a free service which rates and reviews only the best sites on the World Wide Web. We provide surfers with a standard of excellence: a catalog of the most lively, useful, and fun sites on the Net."

The rating is not something we went looking for. We entered no contests, filled out no forms. An email appeared in our emailbox one day announcing our inclusion, and inviting us to display their "Top 5%" badge. In exchange for this we were asked (though not required) to give them a link.

Let's take another look at that badge:

Marshall Scott that he hardly has time for the next issue, let alone back issues, and then there's yadda yadda yadda. But really---back issues will be made available eventually. We get asked about it from time to time.

As always, we would like to acknowledge those who have helped make this Web site what it is. Thanks to Deanie Richards of The JFK Place, who encourages input to her gopher site; David M. Stern, M.D., proprietor of the Deep Politics Bookstore; and Paul Franklin of The Alliance to Expose Government Corruption and Corporate Irresponsibility web site. Thanks also to John Whalen and Jonathan Vankin of 50 Greatetst Conspiracies of All Time. The Executive Action ftp site accessible from Fair Play's front page is maintained by Joe Riley.

Thanks too to our friends at The Cat Machine, a World Wide Web literary magazine.

We regard Fair Play as one big Op-Ed page. All readers are encouraged to submit articles and letters for use in future issues. You may lambaste us, praise us, or send us Web links. We will run the most thought-provoking stuff we get.

As a rule, Fair Play is oriented toward research and journalism. But we'll run JFK-related fiction, poetry, or anything else of general interest. You may send articles via email (please send a query first) to the following address:

Fair Play was also flattered to have been chosen a Cool Site of the Day on November 22, 1994. If you've not yet checked out this site, we suggest you do.

Editor Kelin has a tendency to adopt an editorial "we" when he writes this portion of Fair Play. The plural pronoun is just a convenient device; when he says we he usually means I. The editor has also been known to use the nom de plume, "Lionel Mirthmint." As if he were fooling anybody!

The page one photograph of the grassy knoll and the former Texas School Book Depository building was taken by the editor in October 1993. The line beneath it, about Oswald and the American public, comes from Sylvia Meagher's Accessories After the Fact.
